 Introducing Dapple Stud

In a continued effort to provide the most complete service to a loyal client base, Dapple Bloodstock and a small investment group acquired a 900 acre parcel of picturesque Bourbon County bluegrass last fall. Named Dapple Stud, the historic property is located at 2586 Winchester Road in the very Southern portion of Bourbon County, approximately 10 miles southeast of Paris, directly across Hwy. 627 from Stone Farm.
This expansion will provide Dapple, our partners and clients a home base of operations for the breeding, boarding and consignment of Dapple owned and managed Thoroughbred mares and produce. It is directly beneficial for Dapple portfolio clients, as well as the participants in the annual broodmare partnerships and weanling/yearling resale partnerships, as all the stock resides in one safe and beautiful setting where Mike Akers and staff can monitor their daily changes. It is a delightful experience to come to Kentucky to visit your new foals and having the stock all in one place completes the experience.
Dapple mares, foals, yearlings, and the occasional lay-up are easily managed with generous pastures and four large barns. Breeding from a home base with a selected team of professionals while trading the marketplace is exactly what we have been doing for the last fifteen years. We have the opportunity through a quality broodmare base to produce top racing and breeding stock that will sell very profitable, as our annual numbers have shown over the years for our client base.
Visits are encouraged with appointment by calling Lora Brown at the Dapple Bloodstock office.
Dapple Bloodstock offers annual rate of return investment opportunities in which the stock resides at Dapple Stud throughout each year: weanlings, yearlings and broodmares. The weanling to yearling pinhook will have an expected life of approximately twelve to eighteen months. These horses spend their time growing and learning at Dapple Stud, then prepare to sell under the consignment appropriately named "Dapple Sales." The broodmare deals will continue to have an expected life of three years. These mares stay at Dapple Stud throughout the year, producing stock for sale in the yearling markets each year. These strategies enable us to attack the market from every angle and will also support an eventual hard look at the stallion end of the business. |
